I passed a friend in the hallway the other day and we were commenting on how it is hard to believe that we are in November of 2022. The year has passed by so quickly, it seems. So often, we look back over the years and reflect on all of the things we intended to do but did not end up getting around to doing. It reminded me of a saying, “How we spend our days is, of course, how we spend our lives.” Simple, but profound.
If we want to look back over our years and see inspiring milestones and cherished memories, we have to fill our days with these things. So, let’s look at our schedules for today and for this week too and ask ourselves, “Are the things that are most important to me included here? Am I working towards an important goal in specific ways? Am I prioritizing time for family and friends? Am I incorporating time to care for myself so that I can continue to be a source of caring for others?”
May the living of our days reflect our deepest values and pile up into years that we can look back on with pride and satisfaction!
