Carleen Crittenton, CNA/HHA, hospice aide and intake coordinator for Suncoast Hospice
Congratulations to our June Impact Award winner, Carleen Crittenton, CNA/HHA, hospice aide and intake coordinator for Suncoast Hospice, a member of Empath Health.
Crittenton originally joined the organization in 2017 and was rehired in June 2020. In her role she helps take care of patients and family members, relieving burdens and supporting individual’s needs as much as possible.
“My experience of working as a hospice aide makes me feel important and that my job is playing important role in the patients and family life,” says Crittenton. “I am there for the patients and family at a time of need offering mental, emotional and physical support. There is nothing more rewarding than that.”

Carleen filled in at our location today, doing the job of two people. I don’t believe Carleen stopped working once during her time here today. This person, who is an expectant mother, accomplished an incredible amount, all while going above and beyond for anyone who asked. I couldn’t think of anyone who deserves this more. She is enthusiastic in her position with a smile and a kind word to everyone she encounters.
She really embodies the spirit of what we do here, no matter how incredibly busy, maintaining a professional, kind, and pleasant presence. She is a great team player, always willing to help and goes above her required duties.
We couldn’t have functioned without her. She was truly the heart, brain and backbone here today. Carleen consistently handles two full-time jobs, CTA and care center admission intake with grace and patience. She is always kind and calm even when she is terribly busy. Carleen is a huge asset to the care center team.
