One of the words that I have found myself using in connection with the pandemic we are going through is “unprecedented.” As I have been reflecting on all of the innovations and responses that so many at Empath Health have been engaged in these past weeks, as well as so many other kind-hearted souls around the globe who have chosen to meet this moment with compassion and creativity; perhaps that is what we should be calling unprecedented. Dr. Martin Shaw, author and mystic writes,
“There’s nothing ‘ordinary’ about decency, courage under fire, compassion, tenacity, lion-heartedness, and that is what is being called forth in a moment – a deeply mythic moment – like this.”
Thank you to all of you who are doing your part to care for others, to shine a light in dark places, to be a source of peace and encouragement.
