I remember hiking in the mountains in Ireland with my family. We had all become so accustomed to being in densely populated areas that the sensation of being the only people for miles in any direction was strange but exhilarating. Then, we rounded a corner and came upon this idyllic scene of a deep blue and incredibly serene lake reflecting perfectly the clouds in the sky and the majestic peaks surrounding it. It is a moment we all remember and cherish.
Not every day is a hike in the mountains, but each day holds moments that, if we pay attention – will take our breath away. As Irish poet John O’Donohue wrote, “May you experience each day as a sacred gift woven around the heart of wonder.”
