One of my favorite things to do when time and resources allow is to travel the world. When you explore other parts of the country and the world, you encounter so many different cultures, cuisines and beliefs. These experiences help us to realize that our differences are not something to be feared but instead are a beautiful tapestry of human experience and expression.
So, whether you are celebrating the Festival of Lights (Chanukah) or Mawlid An Nabawi (Birth of Prophet Muhammad), or Christmas, or Pancha Ganapati (five day holiday honoring Ganesha) or Bodhi Day (30 days of celebration honoring Siddhartha Gotama’s enlightenment), or HumanLight (Humanist holiday celebrated on December 23rd ); may we recognize and celebrate the incredible gift that our cultures bring us and truly honor our shared commitment to compassion, kindness, justice, and mercy.
